Latin American music means goes beyond what one sees, or hears, on the surface. The importance of Latin American music artists in Latin culture stems from its past stories. Several Latin American music artists have exalted their roots inside and outside their countries of origin. Latin music has crossed limits to achieve different worldwide corners for a few decades. However, as the 21st century passes, an increasing influence is observed in markets like the United States, Europe, and Asia.

In 2006, time magazine included him as the hundred most influential people worldwide.
